The housing is overwhelmingly mid-century and post-war. A great deal of Garston was built in the 1930s and then extended again through the post-war decades, which gives you the familiar mix of semis with generous rear gardens and reasonably steep roofs, plus the terraced streets and flats that filled in afterwards. The terraces and flats on the estate's later phases have their own logic, and are more often about careful internal reconfiguration than extension.
