A Federation of Master Builders member
The FMB is one of the longest-standing trade bodies for builders in the UK, and its badge is not simply bought. It has to be earned.
Before a company can join, the FMB reviews its trading history and credit history, checks proof of public liability insurance, runs director checks where the company is limited, and sends an experienced inspector to look at its work — foundations through to completion, with photographs from earlier stages, drawings and certificates.
It does not stop there. Members' work continues to be monitored for as long as they remain members. Our last inspection was on 12 March 2026, and our membership runs to 28 February 2027.
Every member also agrees to the FMB’s Code of Conduct — practical promises rather than slogans:

- Regular communication with you
- Guarantees, warranties and certificates handed over
- A clean home and waste properly disposed of
And if a project did go wrong, the FMB's dispute resolution service is a government-approved scheme, free of charge, that members are required to take part in.
